Gitea

Gitea is a lightweight, self-hosted Git service written in Go. It provides repository hosting, pull requests, code review, issue tracking, wikis, and team collaboration, comparable to GitHub or GitLab but designed to run comfortably on modest hardware as a single compiled binary.

Beyond core Git hosting, Gitea includes Gitea Actions (a CI/CD engine compatible with GitHub Actions workflows), a built-in package registry supporting more than 20 formats (npm, PyPI, Maven, Docker, and others), project boards, milestones, and time tracking. It can use SQLite for small setups or PostgreSQL/MySQL for larger deployments, and integrates with external authentication and notification services.

Typical use is as a private, sovereign alternative to hosted Git platforms for individuals, teams, and organizations that want full control over their source code and development workflow on their own infrastructure.
